Design and materials

Engineered with a durable polyester outer shell bonded to a grid-fleece lining, the Ascent balances protection with moisture management. The laminated membrane achieves 5,000mm hydrostatic head rating, effectively repelling light rain and mist. A deep hood and high collar provide essential wind protection for exposed ridgelines. The Dirt Camo pattern blends naturally with rocky terrain, making it ideal for wildlife observation or simply enjoying undisturbed time outdoors.

Practical use

This softshell excels during hiking, scrambling and trekking where body temperature regulation matters. The windproof construction maintains warmth during exposed sections, whilst the breathable lining prevents overheating on steep ascents. Four zippered pockets – including chest and arm pockets – keep essentials like maps, compass and snacks readily accessible without removing your pack.

Compatibility and fit

The Ascent works brilliantly as part of a layering system. Wear it over a base layer in mild conditions, or add an insulating mid-layer underneath when temperatures drop. Care and durability

Machine wash at 30°C using technical fabric detergent to maintain the water-repellent coating. Avoid fabric softeners which can damage the membrane. Periodically reapply DWR treatment to restore water beading performance. Store clean and dry to prevent mildew formation.
